Our Qualifications

Curtis S Chen, CFP® is the Principal of Consult 401(k).  Curtis has assisted many families in preparing for retirement.  He has presented many workshops in the past and believes that educating clients is an important part of the financial planning process.  Curtis also provides pro-bono financial planning as part of the annual Financial Planning Days held by the Financial Planning Association.

Curtis is a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ practitioner and holds BS & MS degrees in Computer Science from MIT.  He has been been a practicing financial planner since 1996 and has experience in Stock Option/Employer Stock diversification, College Planning, and Retiree Planning.

He is a former Little Hands board member, former CPNS parent, and former board member of Family Connections, a free co-op preschool for low-income families.  Curtis is active board member in the local Rotary Club.  Away from the office, Curtis enjoys biking, hockey, and travelling.

Curtis lives with his wife, Piming, and two sons, Felix & Alex in Belmont, CA.
